At Costanoa, we invest in companies tackling massive, unsolved problems. Few are bigger, or more urgent, than child and adolescent mental health.

Our kids are not okay. Rates of anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders have surged in recent years, yet access to care hasn’t kept pace. School counselors are overwhelmed, often carrying caseloads of more than 100 students, and families face an uphill battle navigating Medicaid and our healthcare system to get their children the care they need. Payers want to help, schools want to help, and kids desperately need it – but the system is complex and broken.

This is why we’re so excited to lead Marble Health’s Series A.

Marble is building the modern behavioral health platform for kids and teens, starting where the need is most acute: schools. By simplifying access to Medicaid benefits, aligning with payers, and equipping school counselors with better tools, Marble helps connect students with real, human therapists, not bots. The result is high-quality care delivered at scale, without losing the human connection that makes therapy work.

Marble also brings a refreshing approach to outcomes. Behavioral health outcomes are notoriously difficult to measure, but Marble leverages technology to make progress clearer for schools, payers, families, and beyond. That clarity matters when allocating resources and ensuring kids get the level of care they need. This means individual therapy, group sessions for things like test anxiety, or longer-term support.

From the first moment we met the Marble founders, we knew they were special and that they were perfectly suited to build in a category this complex. Both Jake and Dan are second-time founders who built Headway (the leading mental health company creating access for adults) from the ground up and know how to scale a business in behavioral health. Jake’s personal story makes this even more compelling: growing up with a psychologist and psychiatrist as parents, then spending time as a teacher after Headway, gives him a unique perspective at the intersection of education, mental health, and entrepreneurship. It’s a rare combination, and exactly what makes him the right person to build Marble.

They’ve built an exceptional team and operate with a relentless focus on the customer, which translates insight into efficient, high-impact execution.

The need for Marble has never been greater. Schools are desperate for support, payers are deeply aligned, and the next generation is asking for help in ways we can’t afford to ignore. Children and teens don’t want chatbots pretending to be their therapist; they want access to trusted human experts. Marble gets that balance right: empowering therapists with better AI tools to supercharge their ability to deliver care, while keeping human connection at the center.

We believe Marble can be the care continuity platform that finally helps schools, payers, and providers work together to deliver better care for kids and their families. It’s a big, meaningful, and complex challenge.

We’re proud to partner with Jake, Dan, and the entire Marble team as they build a better system of care: making mental health support for teens more accessible, timely, and effective.
