My Philosophy:
What qualities do you believe lead to the greatest success?
Throughout my career, I found myself drawn to the ideas and people that shape early stage startups.
My entire life I’ve been drawn to people who chase excellence – I grew up in a household where learning was prioritized, my parents are voracious readers and that’s been instilled in me and allowed me to dream big. In college I started a TEDx chapter to gain access to experts and create a space for learning. Investing has been the ultimate
Don’t turn away from hard work, surround themselves with people better than them, they are relentless, they are the ones who are life long learners, curiosity. Philosophy is to invest in founders who look like that.
Curiosity / learning – Many years ago someone said to me “you don’t want to be the smartest person in the room, but you always want to be the hardest worker” – but looking back I now know that fostered each step of my career. Now I’m surrounded by people who are learning at the speed of light.
My job is to find the smartest people in the world and help them succeed.
Being a part of the process of the creation and scaling of technology companies fascinates me and I love debating hard problems and getting to meet a wide array of founders and operators in the process.
I firmly believe that for-profit technology companies stand the best chance of solving many of the world’s toughest problems and venture lets me be a part of that process.
Experience:
Before joining Costanoa, I ran North American sales strategy and operations at Zuora, a public enterprise software company. Prior to that, I spent three years investing in growth stage technology companies at Summit Partners, where my investments included Podium, InfoArmor (acq. AllState), and onXmaps. I began my career on Wall Street, working at JP Morgan where I spent time as a technology investment banker and as a cash equities trader focused on biotechnology and financial services.
A Little More About Me:
When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me outside enjoying beautiful California. I love any and all outdoor activities, though my current passions are distance running, hiking, and alpine skiing. My indoor hobbies include cooking and reading. I also regularly volunteer as a crisis counselor for Crisis Text Line and am passionate about raising awareness for mental health issues.
